We had pre-booked three nights at Etosha: first at Olifantsrus camp site (very nice!), the second at Okaukuejo (quite crowded and expensive, though we did witness a great thunderstorm there) and the third night at Namutoni camp site, which we really enjoyed as well. Since it was the beginning of the rainy season, after the thunderstorm there were somewhat less animals to be seen, but we got to witness quite a lot of amazing wildlife during the three memorable days in Etosha. Enjoy!
Roadtripping around Namibia for in November, enjoying life in Sri Lanka in December. In this blog we’ll share our experiences and thoughts about life in Africa as well as Asia plus share our itinerary, the best photos and do’s and don’ts for fellow travelers.

Wildlife alert! Etosha National Park
One of the highlights of Namibia according to all the travel guides, recommendations from other travelers as well as locals is the Etosha National Park. During the dry season from April to October thousands of animals gather around waterholes, and luckily November is not that bad either! We wanted to see the whole of Etosha, so instead of entering the park through the Anderson Gate, we chose the quite recently opened Galton Gate at the western part of the park (it was easily accessed from Kamanjab, where we spent the night before Etosha at a great campsite Oppi-Koppi).
